Latest News from the Radio Club.
We now have the space for the repeater and the rack is in position. The main repeater is available and just needs programming once we have the final details.
A few Items are still required, mainly aerials, brackets, poles and isolators. All of which we can hopefully gather together over the next few months.
There is a small change to the arrangements with the repeater regarding the club. We will need to pay for the electric it uses (due to rising energy costs etc..).
The proposal suggested tonight is that each club member puts a small regular amount into ‘the pot’ to cover this. A proposal was put forward that each member could set up a simple standing order and this could be paid automatically into a bank account each month, this could then be paid to the club at the end of each month and any balance carried forward. Once the repeater has been operational for a month or two we will have a good idea of the cost, but hopefully £1 or £2 per member, each month should cover it. We are open to other proposals from any club member regarding methods of regular funding, ideally the process should be automatic and simple. All ideas are open for discussion at this stage.
